THE REST OF US — FINDING PURPOSE IN THE AGE OF AI

For years, we were told not to worry.

AI would “augment us,” they said. It would free us from the boring parts of life. It would unlock abundance, creativity, possibility. And for a moment, we believed it. We wanted to believe it. And perhaps in a version of our future, this may become the case.

But it doesn’t take a visionary to see what’s happening now.
The warnings we whispered about in private have already arrived - quietly, efficiently, and faster than anyone expected.

Jobs aren’t being transformed.
They’re being erased.

People aren’t being freed.
They’re being displaced.

And the very things that once gave us identity - our craft, our contribution, our sense of being needed - are dissolving beneath our feet.

We humans are not built to be neutral to pain.
We are not built to thrive in uncertainty.
We are not built to live without purpose.

There was a time - not long ago - when opportunity felt infinite. New companies emerged every month. Industries grew. People were hired, trained, valued. You could build a life, support a family, dream a little. There was a sense of viability, of access, of belonging. Purpose to me is tied to belonging, tied to a family or a community of choice, to being able to make a difference in that environment, and most of the time, it is sustained by having a job, by being needed, rewarded, and taken care of.

Today, that world feels like a fading photograph.

AI is here, and it is surpassing us in ways we can barely comprehend.
The leaders pushing it forward are racing toward scale, speed, and shareholder returns.
The companies implementing it are rewarded for eliminating cost, meaning eliminating us.

And the truth is uncomfortable:
We have laws to protect our society.
But we have no laws to protect society from what AI is replacing.

If a human is displaced, there is no system ready to catch them.
No roadmap.
No safety net.
No plan.

And if you strongly disagree with this view, you might be one of the seven out of ten who haven’t yet used AI deeply enough to see what’s left of your job… or you may be working with your hands, a tradesperson perhaps, who will enjoy a bit more status‑quo time - until robots become capable enough.

We are entering an age where millions of people feel rejected, sidelined, and stripped of the dignity that comes from contributing something meaningful. Meanwhile, those who learn to wield AI rise into new levels of abundance and flexibility.

The gap is no longer financial.
It is existential.

Humans compete, but we also care.
We build communities.
We raise families.
We love, we grieve, we hope.

AI does none of that.
It optimizes.
It calculates.
You cannot hurt it.
And it never loves you back.

And so the question becomes:
How do we live in a world where "the thing" shaping our future cannot feel anything for us and is not incentivized to guide us?

This is where my story shifts.

Because I refuse to watch this divide grow without doing something about it.
I refuse to let the majority of people become collateral damage in a race they never signed up for.

I am choosing to pivot my life toward impact.
Toward building solutions for those being left behind.
Toward creating a business that is profitable because it helps people, not at their expense.

I want to dedicate myself to understanding the dynamics of this new world, and to building tools, systems, and pathways that restore purpose, dignity, and agency to the rest of us.

This isn’t a speech.
It’s a commitment.

A commitment to stand with the people who feel invisible.
A commitment to build something that lifts, not replaces.
A commitment to ensure that in the age of AI, humanity still has a place to stand.

Because the future is not written yet.
And the rest of us deserve to be in it.
